Mondello Park - 2015 testing
2015 got off to a positive note as the team welcomed 2001 UK Formula Ford Champion Charlie Donnelly into the 1000 for a day’s testing at a cold Mondello Park. Charlie was joined by newcomer, Des Foley, who was testing the teams JH004 for the first time.
Both cars ran without problems, with Charlie focusing on set up changes throughout the day, providing the team with valuable feedback for the comng season. It was Des' first outing in a Formula Vee and he spent the day acclimatising, gaining confidence with each lap and ending up with a very respectable lap time, close to some of the more seasoned campaigners who were present.
‘As first days go, it went very well’ said team boss Paul Heavey. ‘We hope this is a good sign for the coming season and we look forward to having the two lads back in the cars sooner rather than later’ This follows on from a successful Kirkistown test for Brendan O'Brien during the week, where he tried out the new for 2015 Toyo tyres.
At this time it is hoped for Charlie to tackle a limited programme in Formula Libre and UK monoposto while it looks like Des will be joining the team for the Formula Vee opener on March 15th. 2015 is go!
